Since the beginning of March, a further 4,000km have been driven by the project teams, with 3 new Mini Hospital sites having been accepted into the programme. The Northwestern Province now features, with the establishment of a site at Mize, in the Zambezi District.
To date, a total of 33 potential sites have been visited by NMSI’s teams, covering six Provinces of Zambia: Northwestern; Western; Southern; Lusaka; Central; Eastern; Luapula. This has involved approximately 18,000km of driving. These initial site assessments have resulted in confirmation of 23 Mini Hospital sites, and the first of the district hospitals becoming officially part of the programme.
