PM’s Trade Envoy visits Bauleni Mini Hospital, Zambia

On 28 May 2019, the Rt. Hon Baroness Northover, the UK Prime Minister’s Trade Envoy, Hon. Minister of Health Dr. Chitalu Chilufya and Hon. Minister of Finance Margaret Mwanakatwe visited the Bauleni mini-hospital site in Zambia.

Also joining the visit to the mini-hospital site were the British Ambassador to Zambia, HE Fergus Cochrane-Dyet; Mr Mark Richardson, Head of DfID Zambia; Permanent Secretary for the Ministry of Health, Mulalelo Akakulubelwa; the Area Councillor Patrick Mwansa, and Area Ward Chairman John Mukonda; among other party officials, as well as management and employees of NMS Infrastructure and Suscon Solutions.

Two young female Zambian engineers, Musenge Shimz and Kayinda Muchepa led the tour which was extremely successful, with construction having only started 7 weeks prior, and works scheduled to conclude within six weeks. This Bauleni site is the fifth of 108 mini-hospitals to be constructed by NMSI across Zambia. The visit was broadcast live on The Ministry of Health’s Facebook page and was a great success.
